Earlier today I saw a great post on Facebook that said:
“Children are the messengers we send to a time we will never see.”
The quote was on a blog (www.cathyfamily.com) from a first time grandfather. The whole post was touching. But that particular quote really stood out. It holds so much truth to it. People talk about leaving legacies behind once they are gone, but I wonder how many parents actually realize that to some extent, that their legacies are their children. Everything we teach them while they are young reflects back on the kind of person we are/were. I hope the “messenger” that Taylor and I raise in Sophie will love as Christ loved and want to share His love with her world.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Just some thoughts tonight…
