A Decade

In Uncategorized on December 30, 2009 at 7:01 pm

I’m sure you are being reminded each day that we are closing in on a decade. So MUCH has happened these past 10 years. I was just reading an alphabetical list of 50 things that have shaped and changed our lives over the past 10 years. Here are a few that I found interesting:
1. Connectivity
2. DVR’s
3. Information Overload (I think this goes hand in hand w/ connectivity!)
4. iPods (and everything Apple)
5. Wikipedia (a personal favorite)
Those are just to name a few…
I was thinking back to 2000, I was a freshman in highschool. These past 10 years for me are full of wonderful memories and many blessings. I learned to drive, found my soulmate, went on many Mission trips and witnessed many children come to know the Lord, graduated highschool, became engaged and married my soulmate, proudly became a military wife, learned to live on my own, welcomed Taylor home from 2 tours in Iraq, lived in 3 different states, and ofcourse most recently becoming pregnant. I’ve seen ALOT of change these past 10 years and I am most thankful for the experiences I’ve had and the wonderful people I’ve been able to meet. The Lord has so richly blessed Taylor and I!
Here’s to the next 10 years!! Happy New Year’s!!

There was a beautiful rainbow Christmas morning.

@ my parents house…Taylor and Alexander.

Taylor opened one of Sophie’s gifts. I don’t think it will look as cute on him as it will her! hehe

My sweet nephew!

7 months pregnant on Christmas day.

My sister’s lil family!

Around town…

We had to go rescue my car yesterday, which was still on base. The main road through base was still bad. They hadn’t bothered even plowing it yet. Oh yeah, this was 2:00 in the afternoon.
Still on base.

This is a 3 lane road outside out complex…well the road is under about 5 inches of packed ice. They finally started plowing and salting late this afternoon.

Snowed In!

In Uncategorized on December 19, 2009 at 10:46 pm
These first two pictures are of my parents house in TN. They had about 7 inches as of this morning.
Taylor and I had a pretty eventful day yesterday. First, we were very fortunate to take a Christmas Tour of the White House. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Then we decided we wanted to see Avatar w/ friends. When we left the theater around 10pm, there was already 2-3inches on the ground and the roads were TERRIBLE! We left base around 10:30ish, and didn’t make it home until after 1am. I’m very thankful we made it home safe.

Driving off base with blizzard like conditions. The road was non-existent.

More driving…

Still driving…

Saturday evening outside our balcony. Now there is probably about 8 inches on our balcony. 15+ inches on the ground.

This Bluejay was enjoying the snow, along w/ his 3 friends.

Maverick “snow” prints.

More Mav prints. Pepper only liked the snow outside our front door.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

Small update…

After a slow but steady start, Alden is finally over 8lbs and 23inches long!!! He is also 2 months as of yesterday. Dad sent me this cute picture yesterday and I just had to post it. I look at this picture and all I can see is my brother. I think he looks so much like Alexander here, maybe it’s his little expression.
Here is a 6 month pic update of me. 🙂

Deck the Halls…

Here is a tour our indoor & outdoor decorations…
I will try to get better outdoor pictures, but the huge tree in front hides our balcony.

Kitchen hutch…I love my acorn garland.

Small dining room tree w/ garland and candy canes.

Main Christmas tree.

These 2 ornaments are our newest additions…the beautiful rattle is from mom and dad.

Never ordered ornaments from Bronners.com? – you should!

My homemade Christmas cards…I’m very proud of them if I say so myself…lol.

Maverick and Pepper…can you tell who my problem kitty is?

Happy December and Merry Christmas!
