This might be the only picture I have of them playing nice. Maverick is in Pepper’s spot.

Somewhere in the middle…
In Uncategorized on April 7, 2009 at 4:15 pmI’ve had a LOT on my mind lately. The Lord I feel is really working on my heart. I’ve struggled with whether or not to post this, to others it may seem silly or non-important. But to me it’s been a struggle and I’ve seen parts of me that I am not happy with. So I’m gonna blog a little bit about me, personally. I know as a Christian, the Lord is always making and molding me.
When I graduated highschool, I received a book from a dear friend and mentor of mine. The book was Dr. Suess’ “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”. I came across that book the other day and decided to read through it again. There is a part in the book that brought me to tears, because I thought “this is so where I am in life right now”. It goes like this…
Except when you don’t. Because sometimes you won’t. I’m sorry to say so but sadly it’s true, that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you. You can get all hung up in a prickle-ly perch. And your gang will fly on. You’ll be left in a Lurch. You’ll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump. And the chances are then, that you’ll be in a slump. And when you’re in a slump, you’re not in for much fun. Un-slumping yourself is not easily done. You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked. A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin! Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win? And IF you go in, should you turn left or right…or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite? Or go around back and sneak in from behind? Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind. You can get so confused that you’ll start in to race down long wiggled roads to a break-necking page and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear toward a most useless place. The Waiting Place….(this is me) for people just waiting. Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a place to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting. Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night or waiting, perhaps, for the Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance. Everyone is just waiting. NO!! That’s not for you! Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying. You’ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing. With banner flip-flapping once more you’ll ride high! Ready for anything under the sky. Ready because you’re that kind of guy! Oh, the places you’ll go…
That’s not the whole book…lol. It goes on to say that you’ll move mountains and your mountain is waiting, so get on your way… After reading those passages, I was reminded of a few verses in my Bible…verses that were hopeful to me.
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11
Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this moutain, Move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. – Matthew 17:20-21
So, if you think about it, just say a prayer for me. I know my Lord has a plan for my life, I’m still just trying to figure it out. He has already blessed me beyond what I deserve.
And, I love each and every one of you!
More D.C.
In Uncategorized on April 7, 2009 at 12:54 amAlmost 5 years ago I visited D.C. for the first time with my best friend (and our mothers). I was 18, she was 16. Hailey is graduating college next month and I couldn’t be more proud of her!! Anyways, she was up in D.C. for a couple of days last week, so ofcourse I had to spend a few days with her. We had fun roaming all over the city again. I got some great shots of the Cherry Blossoms, etc…
