D.C. – Day 3
In Uncategorized on March 30, 2009 at 1:45 amChanging of the Guards Ceremony
In Uncategorized on March 29, 2009 at 4:41 pmWe were able to watch the Changing of the Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington. There are several videos, I apologize, I could only tape 3min at a time. For the most part people were respectful of this tradition, there were a few who were talking…or trying to cross over the fence…you hear the guard call her out in one of the lasts videos. It was funny…he never broke stride and just kept on going. I hope you enjoy the videos!

D.C. – Day 2
In Uncategorized on March 29, 2009 at 1:03 amYesterday (Friday) was a great day for exploring the Capitol! We got to visit most everything we had planned. The Lord held off the rain and it was warm, really beautiful weather. We started in Arlington, then boarded the Tourmobile which took us all over D.C. We however did not make it to the Jefferson or Tidal Basin because of time. So we didn’t really get a good look at the Cherry Blossoms 😦 But here are a bunch of pictures…so enjoy!
Family and Washington D.C.
In Uncategorized on March 27, 2009 at 12:54 amMy parents, mamaw, aunt, and cousin have come to VA to visit Taylor and I. So we are spending most of our time in D.C. (only mom and I have been). I didn’t get a whole lot of pictures today only because we just did the Holocaust Museum. Pictures are not allowed there.

In Uncategorized on March 6, 2009 at 11:36 pmA little show called American Idol.
In Uncategorized on March 5, 2009 at 3:06 amI thought I would “blog” about something other than my life…haha.
I cannot tell you why I keep watching this talentless show each week. There is no way, out of a couple hundred thousand people, that this is the best they could find. I refuse to believe it!!
I’ve watched this show every season…usually being pleased with most of the contestants, and most of the winners have gone on to have much success. But this season just plain ole stinks!! Every year, I seriously consider attending one of the many auditions they hold nationwide, just to see if I was “good” enough to make it through. I know I’m no Whitney Houston…but I do think I am rather talented. But I always talk myself out of it. I even had a hotel booked last year in Charleston, S.C…and scared me backed out. I always think, how could I compete with the likes of Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, or even Daughtry – they all have mad talent!
With that said, after seeing this years group, I’m 100% confident I could compete.
I guess I will continue watching. There is a ray of hope in 16yr. old Allison…the spunky redhead. I will be pulling for her…crossing my fingers she stays true to herself.
Just some of my thoughts…
